The brand "Kuntur" was founded in 1988 in Huancayo by Don Ponciano Canto who learned from a very young age the technique of burilado/carved on a gourd, this technique was passed down from generation to generation.
Initially, gourds were made with traditional designs, which reflected the experiences and customs of the region.
Thanks to the entrepreneurship of Katya and Blanca Canto, “Kuntur Designs” was born and established as an innovative brand, which stands out for producing exclusive handmade gourds with unique designs.
